“Simon” Red Roan Gelding Quarter Horse

Simon is a stout—and truly stout-built—14.2H Red Roan Quarter Horse gelding, 11 years old. He is extremely well traveled, having been ridden in multiple states and used as a dependable ranch horse his entire life. From herding and sorting to pasture roping and loading trucks, Simon has done it all.

He has extensive trail experience, including riding in the rough, rocky high country. Simon confidently crosses creeks, ditches, logs, and navigates challenging terrain with ease. He has been ridden many miles through the mountains of Eastern Kentucky, where he has encountered just about every obstacle imaginable. Steep slopes, deep creeks, downed trees, and rugged ground are no problem for him—he stays sure-footed and steady every step of the way.

Simon offers a smooth jog and an exceptionally smooth lope. He picks up correct leads, lopes nice circles, is one-hand broke, and reins easily. He has been ridden by our kids and is gentle, slow, and forgiving, with more whoa than go.

He has been exposed to all types of wildlife and livestock, including deer, turkey, cows, and dogs, and will willingly go wherever he is asked. If you want a horse that makes you feel—and look—like the real deal cowboy or cowgirl, just climb on Simon. He’ll take care of the rest.
